Research Associates, Inc. (“RAI”) was formed in 1953 by former agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Their mission was to provide the private sector with the same level of high quality investigative services that the FBI provides in the public sector. In the years since its formation, the mission at RAI has not changed.

RAI has three separate service divisions which offer comprehensive services to our clients:

• The Employer Services Division specializes in pre-employment background investigations including management-level inquiries and drug/alcohol screening.
• The Corporate and Business Investigations Division focuses on investigating businesses and due diligence inquiries.
• The Fraud Prevention and Detection Division investigates employee misconduct, conducts internal corporate investigations and also specializes in claims and insurance investigations.

RAI has grown into an international investigative firm with seamless coverage throughout North America and capabilities in every commercial location worldwide. Our network of over 250 affiliates is unmatched in the industry.
